I want to come alongside you and help you heal from the wounds of life, grow into the best version of yourself possible, and to be successful on your journey. Taking the first step for your future may be scary, but the journey there doesn't have to be traversed alone. Individuals I have worked with have been dealing with struggles such as depression, anxiety, history of abuse and trauma, relationship conflicts, and life transitions such as education and careers.

Sometimes it helps to have a second person, someone to walk the journey along side you, someone who won’t judge you but will walk with you side by side to help guide you to find that missing piece. I want to work with you where you are at and help you achieve the goals you want to achieve. Together as a team we will work step by step to achieve a happier and healthier life.

Couples learn to speak each other's language and communicate respectfully.
Taking the initial step to call can be difficult. It's scary to reach out for support, especially if it hasn't been there in the past. Those feelings of doubt usually go away after making that call and beginning to tell your story. Counseling is a place of acceptance where you can learn to see your true value. You hold the keys to your happiness. You just need support to unlock that door. Doing it alone will keep you stuck. You can learn to trust again. Begin your healing and personal growth, call today for a free consultation.

I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is essential for healing, so it’s important for us to BOTH show up authentically for sessions.
Maybe your emotions sweep you off your feet, but not always in a good way. You use substances, food, or other habits to try and escape these feelings, but ultimately the underlying causes go unaddressed. There’s nothing wrong with having big emotions, but what would life look like if you learned how to ride these waves instead of feeling like you’re drowning? Although change can feel impossible, I’m here to suggest it is not. I want to walk beside you as you discover and embrace your authentic self, and channel your strengths to cultivate resilience as you work through the tough stuff.

Over the past decade, the importance of mental health has been brought to the forefront of the conversation. My goal is to normalize and de-stigmatize the utilization of therapeutic interventions. I recognize the courage that it takes to ask for professional support and I am strongly committed to helping you navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges. I have been working in the mental health field for over 8 years; within this time I gained experience working with children ages 5 and up, adolescents/teens, adults, couples, and families.

With couples and individual clients we will outline which approach is the best fit.
Let me pour you a cup of tea or coffee and lets talk. I am incredibly proud of you for taking the first step towards your mental health journey. Life is too short to let our trauma control us, bad relationships consume us, and have our anxiety and depression overwhelm us. That is why I want to help you achieve the happiness in life that you deserve. I want you to find your purpose and flourish. I work with those who are struggling with life or work stress, relationship issues, anxiety and depression, body image, low self-esteem, and existential issues.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
