My desire is to help people navigate this crazy journey called life. I understand that there are ups and downs for everyone, and yet they look different for each of us. I want to come alongside you and help you heal from the wounds of life, grow into the best version of yourself possible, and to be successful on your journey. Taking the first step for your future may be scary, but the journey there doesn't have to be traversed alone. Individuals I have worked with have been dealing with struggles such as depression, anxiety, history of abuse and trauma, relationship conflicts, and life transitions such as education and careers.

I have multiple years of experience counseling families struggling with trauma-based behavioral and parenting issues. I have extensive experience working with adolescent and young adult populations challenged with developing the skills to transition into effective adulthood. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who struggle with addictions, depression, anxiety, relational issues, grief and loss, men’s issues, codependence, trauma, and parenting issues. I have experience delivering parental guidance and life skills training.

In the more than 20 years that I have been a therapist, I have honed an eclectic-style of guiding therapy, using the skills that I have in the best interest of meeting the needs of my clients. I feel as though what sets me apart from other therapists is my drive to help clients deal with the things they struggle with. When I entered college, I initially wanted to be a psychiatrist, but I decided I didn't want to simply prescribe pills: I wanted to know people and to help them. So I chose psychology instead of psychiatry.

As a counselor, I view the counseling process as an extremely empowering and life-changing endeavor and a sign of inner strength. I believe that true and lasting change occurs within the counseling relationship through a collaborative holistic approach; one that attends to the physical and spiritual realms as well as the cognitive, emotional and behavioral ones. I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and journeying with my clients toward healing and hope. Using an integrative approach, I provide a safe space and a warm respectful manner as you seek to identify and achieve your goals.

In life, struggles, and obstacles are part of the human experience. To put it bluntly, life is just not fair at times. It is my hope and wish to help you along your journey as you navigate the obstacles in your own life. I strongly believe that in the therapeutic process the most important aspect is the relationship between the counselor and the client. For this reason my primary goal is make every effort to help the client feel safe and welcome in the counseling session.

Seeking support for life's difficulties can be daunting. Partnering with others as they walk through these difficulties is one of my lifelong passions. Let's begin to investigate your own particular story and see how it can be rewritten. The most important benchmark for each session is establishing an environment of trust and openness. From there, we can work to break through barriers. My goal is to support, educate, counsel and guide you through it all.

Therapists are only wounded survivors with education and training, who seek to help their fellow man to face life's difficulties. It is part of my journey to walk with my clients along their chosen path and offer guidance, support, and acceptance. No one knows the right answer. It is my belief that everyone has within them what they need. The only question that remains is how do they get tapped into the internal strength that can provide healing. I have successfully accompanied many adolescences, adults, and families as they discover their own capacity to resolve their presenting life challenges.

I've been a counselor for over 30 years. I try to strike a balance between listening, educating, and application. I believe that we all have the same basic healthy needs, but the problems arise in how we choose to get those needs met. My practice is called Right Choices because life's all about the choices we make, though we often let life's circumstances make our choices for us. Most clients are looking for better information as to how to adequately deal with their current issues, wanting to make better choices - and that's why I'm here.

I work with individuals and couples by listening to their stories, helping them to find meaning out of life's experiences and working together to rewrite the stories of their lives. I journey with individuals to heal past wounds and move towards wholeness. I have worked with women in life transitions to find a greater sense of self and with men with past struggles with addiction to discover a new direction for their lives. I work with men, women and teens who struggle with anxiety, depression and family conflict to work on setting boundaries with others and caring for the self.

Many people have difficulty adapting to life's unforeseen challenges and seeking help can feel equally challenging. I believe that psychotherapy is invaluable in improving one's quality of life. Our experiences and characteristics can cause conflict in our relationships with ourselves & others. I value each individual's story as it creates our present day reality. Making sense of our life can be difficult to achieve alone. My approach is to help couples develop healthier, more adaptive relationships; nurture stable & respectful relationships; and move beyond the state of feeling "stuck" and toward growth.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, trained in helping those suffering with depression, anxiety, disordered eating, interpersonal relationships, emotion regulation, issues of overcontrol, crisis & trauma. I'm experienced working with self-harm, suicidal ideation & attempts. I counsel individuals, couples & families as well as First Responders.

My goal for therapy is to help individuals, couples, and families live the most fulfilling lives as possible. I am extremely passionate about working with others who experience daily challenges. Sometimes life hands us experiences that we aren't prepared for in which we struggle to navigate on our own. Adults, adolescents, and children face different sets of stressors which require various treatment approaches. I feel that my clinical training and experience allows me to provide the most effective treatment for all of my clients.

Life is not always easy. Sometimes life is challenging because of circumstances related to our actions; sometimes these challenges are a result of circumstances beyond our control. Regardless, these circumstances do not define us. It is, instead, our response to these circumstances that determines our course. My passion is working with individuals and families who are facing these storms. I love walking with my clients through these storms and into a bright new day. It is my hope that each of my clients will learn not just to weather and survive these storms but rather to conquer and overcome them.

Life can be difficult and at times we all need someone to come along side us and help us face those difficulties. As a counselor, I consider it a great privilege to partner with people struggling with a variety of issues and offer them a safe place to help them work toward true healing and freedom.

With my life and career experiences, I can assist in navigating the daily changes that life presents. As we have all experienced an unprecedented pandemic, this has caused a shift in our lives placing focus on what is most important to each other. I can be that listening ear to provide support during these times and or provide the tools needed to live your lives to their fullest potential.
