If you are struggling through the pain of an extramarital relationship, I will help you both recover.
If you are not feeling heard, if you are feeling like you rarely come first, or if you feel like your opinion does not carry much weight, I can help you. Couples therapy can provide you with healthy habits for your relationship. Personal counseling can help you save yourself instead of everyone else all the time. Living in Fairfield County, though lovely, comes with its own sets of problems: financial pressures, the lonely and pressure-packed 70-hour work week, and the sacrifices and benefits of staying home with the kids. Don't suffer alone. There are skills, solutions and remedies available for you, as well as for your spouse.

I help people work through stuck patterns of interaction within themselves and their relationships to realize their desire for personal and relationship growth. Specifically I help couples, women shifting roles, struggling parents, and young adults transitioning from dependence to independence. Although this group may seem eclectic, they all have one thing in common; their ability to work through problems by learning to rely on inherent strength and self-knowledge. Drawing on my clients' unique strength, I guide them down their path to personal growth and connection, which affects not only them, but also everyone with whom they share their life.

It is my belief that change comes from the connection of the body, mind and spirit and through the strength and trust of the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that every person has the right to live a happy, healthy and purposeful life. There are times when challenges get in the way of this. Happiness is not a straight trajectory, there are twists and turns and sometimes barriers that get in the way. I feel my purpose is to walk and support my client on their path of self discovery and assist them in acquiring skills that leads to life long changes. Self discovery and self empowerment is the key to change. I hold a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore themselves. Healing is like peeling an onion with many layers. We are complex.

Whether you need talk therapy, EMDR, individual, or couples therapy, contact me today and you will find the support you need to live your best life.
Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. I believe therapy isn’t about digging up negative experiences from the past and dwelling on them, it is about seeing the ways the past is controlling your present. When our past interferes with our present we can find ourselves feeling stuck and dissatisfied. We are perhaps surviving but not thriving. Therapy can also be about recognizing behavior patterns and/or learning better coping skills. Anxiety, trauma, life-stressors, digital addiction, ADHD,OCD, teen, young adult and men’s issues as well as parenting in the Digital age are a few of my specialties.

I currently work with individuals, couples and families in private settings.
My clinical focus is PTSD, developmental trauma and addictive disorders. I combine traditional "talk" therapy with QEEG-informed Neurofeedback and EMDR, where appropriate. This offers you the best chance of healing past emotional wounds, alleviating symptoms, and living more fully in the present. The subtle, transformative power of Neurofeedback helps many clients resolve the traumatic stress, fear and anxiety that often underly behavioral and addictive disorders. EMDR is another powerful tool that can help resolve emotional trauma, improve functioning, and help you become more present-focused.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
