Hello and welcome! I sincerely appreciate your consideration in building a therapeutic relationship. The term Counterstep means a measure taken to correct an action or situation. My goal is to establish a safe, accepting, and comfortable environment, which is essential for you, the client, to grow in self-awareness and self-acceptance. It is also my goal that we collaborate to form a mutually desirable relationship and focus our counseling sessions by setting goals, which we will continue to reevaluate throughout the counseling process.
Based on education, experience and training, my treatment strategies are grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). However, I have the capacity to draw upon many techniques from other theoretical approaches that include DBT, Cognitive Processing, and Positive Psychology.
I welcome the opportunity to assist you towards a life of self-awareness, self-acceptance and growth. I pledge to listen without judgement and collaborate with you as you take steps toward achieving your goals and making positive changes in your life.
