My name is Corrie Alvarez and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. I help clients develop and integrate new patterns into their lives that can bring them out of crisis, enhance their lives, and help them transition into their new normal. I encourage clients to focus on what they can control, to activate in positive ways, and to problem solve. I am an employee of my clients and it is my job to eventually make myself no longer needed. I am direct but gentle, and I always strive to be kind. Maintaining professionalism is important to me as I help my clients more successfully and comfortably navigate their lives.
I have over 20 years of experience with cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and evidence-based therapies. I provide EMDR. I’m chronically optimistic and I like to integrate humor and fun into sessions. For those who are interested I am able to weave my Christian faith and background into sessions as well.
I help clients develop a treatment plan that best suits their needs. Clients often decide to revise their treatment goals as they progress through their therapy experiences. I’m comfortable with the twist and turns of therapy.
