For 20+ years, I have enjoyed working with a diverse population of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. My clients have shaped how I practice. I work from a cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, trauma-informed foundation. I help clients develop and integrate new patterns into their lives that can bring them out of crisis, enhance their lives, and help them transition into their 'new normal'. I encourage clients to focus on what they can control, to activate in positive ways, and to problem solve. I'm chronically optimistic, and like to integrate humor and fun into sessions.
I help clients develop a treatment plan that best suits their needs. Clients often decide to revise their treatment goals as they progress through their therapy experiences. I'm comfortable with the twists and turns of therapy. For those who are interested, I enjoy integrating my Christian faith into sessions as well.
I've worked in outpatient, inpatient, home-based, online, residential, and group settings both as a therapist and therapist supervisor. I can truly say I've never had a job as a therapist that I did not like.
