Hi there, I'm Corey! I have been in the field of mental health for a total of 24 years. I provide mental health care from a Cognitive Behavioral orientation. However, I utilize a variety of clinical strategies across psychological modalities. As a Clinician, I describe my approach as very 'hands-on' and 'engaged' throughout the therapeutic process. Compassion and empathy are key aspects of my professional identity. Maintaining a broad perspective on life, tolerating ambiguity, and recognizing the restorative value in traits such as humility and meekness (power under control) are sometimes emphasized as meaningful ways forward.
We will set goals together Client will identify, along with the therapist, when his/her goals have been completed through observable and measurable means, along with the client's experience of alignment with their desired and stated goal and objectives as compared to a verifiable reality.
When meeting with clients, I attempt to get to know them by telling them a little about me and my professional background first. Once this is done, I found out what brings them to therapy. I intend to remain curious throughout the therapy process. This means asking questions and exploring topics rather deeply, when necessary.
