"People come to treatment for a variety of reasons.I view each person as unique and strive to assist individuals to overcome challenges and meet the goals that are important in their lives. As we work to let go of behaviors, thoughts and feelings that are not useful in the present, new healthier patterns can emerge and be adopted. Treatment is always focused on achieving a greater sense of comfort and satisfaction, psychologically, emotionally physically and spiritually."

"I am passionate about helping adults and couples struggling with anxiety, relational distress, self-worth, and sexual issues. It is essential to create a safe and shame-free space for my clients to explore their emotions, sexual issues, fears of intimacy, and vulnerabilities in order to make powerful changes. If you find yourself feeling lonely, disconnected from your loved ones, experiencing self-doubt and allowing fear to control your life then I can help. Through this process you will learn ways to self-regulate your emotions, practice self-love, create healthy boundaries in your relationships, and take control of your life. "

"Despite your best intentions and efforts, do you feel stuck in your personal life, intimate relationships, family relationships or workplace? You may be faced with challenges that are deeply rooted in your early life experiences, your primary attachments, in how you view the world, or due to misunderstanding between you and significant others. Challenges can arise during stressful life transitions, such as divorce or death of loved ones. But they can also arise from positive life experiences, such as marriage or the birth of a child. Left untreated, these challenges can grow into chronic problems that can corrode your sense of self and your relationships."

"Shakespeare famously wrote “to thine own self be true.”I often wonder about what it means to be true to myself, and I know that I am not alone. In today’s fast paced society, it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. Society frequently dictates what seems or appears to be right or perfect, from the type of job that we have, to the way that we look, who we love and how we love, and the choices that we make on a day to day basis. When what we are told is “right or perfect” does not align with our true selves, we may lose our sense of self as well as a sense of belonging."

Coping Skills Therapists
With coping skills or coping mechanisms, we learn to overcome issues like stress, depression, anger or anxiety.

Pro-active coping involves dealing with a problem by using constructive coping activities such as planning, confrontation, self-control and restraint. Overuse of coping mechanisms, like avoiding problems or working obsessively, can exasperate the weakness.

Emotion based coping skills reduce symptoms by addressing our feelings e.g. discussing the issues, distraction, relaxation, reframing or humor can all help. But negative coping mechanisms, which tend to be impulsive, like denial, projection, rationalization, repression or wishful thinking can make the underlying problem worse.

Some coping methods are more like bad habits than constructive life skills e.g. drinking and drugs. Other examples might include skin biting, nail biting or hair pulling (trichotillomania).

If you find it hard to cope or are having trouble coping, therapists in Philadelphia can help develop constructive coping skills for children, coping skills for kids and life coping skills.

If you're looking for help with coping skills in Philadelphia or for a Philadelphia coping skills therapist, these professionals provide coping strategies. They include Philadelphia coping skills therapists, coping skills psychologists, coping skills psychotherapists and coping skills counseling.

How can I tell if a therapist is right for me?
Therapists in Philadelphia are able to work with a wide range of issues. They offer in person sessions as well as Teletherapy in Philadelphia

For example, if you're seeking a marriage counselor in Philadelphia you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counseling or couples counseling in Philadelphia and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counseling in Philadelphia or family therapy in Philadelphia.
