Coming to therapy can be challenging and create a sense of vulnerability. I strive to be a compassionate clinical psychologist to be a present, empathic listener to help people improve their life situation, relationships, and sense of well-being. I am best suited to treat individuals and couples who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, and trauma. I have a particular interest and training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. In addition, I work with individuals who develop psychological difficulties that accompany medical illnesses, specifically those who suffer from chronic pain.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are looking for individual, couples', family, and/or group psychotherapy or psychological assessment. I view healing in psychotherapy as a holistic process to include: spirituality, relationships, exercise, career, and the mind-body connection.
I strive to provide a safe and accepting environment to allow individuals to uncover and understand their struggles, while also taking risks to change areas of their lives that are unhealthy. Do you suffer from a chronic medical condition, pain, or physical disability that has impacted your functioning, happiness, and overall wellbeing? Do you feel lost and alone? How do you cope? Countless of individuals suffer alone with many unanswered questions about their condition and future. This group is meant to be a supportive and safe environment to discuss the many emotions that arise and also to identify coping strategies amongst other individuals who understand what it means to have a chronic illness.
