My goal as a counselor is to help people find compassion and courage to explore their thoughts and feelings in depth, and to learn how to experience them in healthy and relieving ways. I see the counselor and client as fellow travelers, exploring these experiences together, with the outcome as finding a way for the client to live authentically for themselves, and in relation to others. This process is based on a belief that each individual is their own phenomenon carrying a unique and powerful interpretation of the world, one which can be utilized in healing, growth, and change.
I specialize in exploring complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life adjustments primarily through an existential lens. I am Internal Family Systems informed, which helps people de-pathologize their emotional responses to life and trauma, and help create a better working relationship with themselves, rooted in self-compassion and curiosity.
Finding a good fit for therapy can take time - that is why I offer a free one hour initial consultation to determine if we would be right for each other. My desire is to get to know you, not just your problems or concerns, to really try and connect in the therapeutic space together.
