The adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and families who benefit most from my services are interested in learning about themselves - what they like and don't like, what motivates them, what they believe about themselves and others, and what they want their lives and relationships to be like. The issues people typically ask for my help with include: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, personality issues, self-esteem, identity, substance use problems, compulsive behaviors (eating, gambling, sexual, etc), occupational/academic issues, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My clients achieve self acceptance and satisfaction by learning to make choices that are consistent with their values, needs, and goals.
Over the past 20+ years, I have developed a practical, evidenced based approach to counseling that focuses on helping my clients to develop and utilize their knowledge, resources, creativity, support systems, and skills to solve problems, develop satisfying relationships, increase their ability to experience joy and appreciation, and achieve personal and professional goals.
I provide assessments, monitoring, and care management services required for compliance with court orders, DOT regulations, or company policies and procedures. I advise my clients about professional licensing and ethical issues, and provide workplace consultations and trainings related to mental health and substance use issues.
