I believe that people come to therapy because they want to change their life for the better. I work with individuals to lighten sadness, grief or anxiety, or to gain a greater understanding of one's self. I believe that the root causes of difficulty are developmental or situational, circumstantial, or a trauma. I strive to provide a non-judgmental, nurturing, safe space to explore insights, strengths and challenges. I specialize with multi-cultural and multi-racial adults, expatriates, those in multi-racial relationships, and those struggling with anxiety, depression, personality disorders and addiction.
I am a relational psychodynamic psychotherapist, and believe that the key to understanding why we behave or think the way we do is rooted in our past relationships and experiences. By looking at the past and present together, we can uncover patterns that have developed over the years, to understand them and find greater fullfillment in life.
I like to think of therapy as a long walk taken together, that becomes more meaningful as our relationship grows, and discovery becomes less frightening and more full of curiosity. I will be with you every step of the way. Please reach out should you be interested in a complimentary 20 minute session to see if we might work together.
