As an experienced clinician I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, a variety of ages and presenting with a range of issues and needs. My experience has reinforced my deep respect for the individual's inherent capacity for development and change when provided an appropriate context for growth and exploration. My goal is to provide a relationship to all my clients that supports their strengths and catalyzes their personal growth and problem solving. In the end I strive to support my clients' engagement in a rich, satisfying life.
My first goal with any client is to establish a collaborative relationship. I have a psycho-dynamic lens meaning that I value self understanding as a way to free oneself of the negative influences of the past. I integrate strategies from cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness approaches to facilitate the development of new skills and relational patterns.
My experience is that enhanced self understanding coupled with practicing new skills leads to enduring change. Most clients want freedom from symptoms as well as improved life satisfaction. I will partner with you to achieve these and other aims.
