Life is a developmental process challenging us to become all that we can. It begins in childhood and moves into old age challenging us by the unexpected. It calls upon us to adapt and rethink our ways of being in the world both inside ourselves and in relationships with others. These challenges come in many forms (disappointments in ourselves and relationships, losses, illnesses (emotional and physical), and the unexpected. Psychotherapy provides a space for joint exploration allowing individuals, couples and families to explore these challenges. It offers an opportunity to gain greater understanding and move toward creating a richer and more meaningful life.
My specialties grew out of the rich experiences I encountered while working in a hospital setting from the ER to the CCU and from Psychiatry to Addictions Treatment. I have witnessed pain and suffering, and I have respect for those who have the courage to change and face what life presents.
