I offer relationship-based talk therapy with the goal of adding to your laugh lines in NC, FL, and KS. Ideal clients will understand they are the expert in their own lives; I am merely here to walk alongside them in their journey. Common issues include previous trauma (e.g. sexual abuse, interpersonal violence), anxiety, depression, and chronic stress. Goals range from decreasing levels of anxiety and depression to setting needed boundaries. Coming to therapy without a "real" goal is absolutely okay too! I'm an accredited Facet5 practitioner, so we can use a strengths-based personality assessment to get us started if need be.
I am passionate about educating others on how Adverse Childhood Experiences impact physical and emotional well-being later in life. Formal training in child and adult trauma models helps me address concerns such as stress, emotional stability, and physical health through a cognitive lens (i.e. exploring thinking patterns).
I'm firmly rooted in the idea of "curiosity over criticism" and will meet you with my brand of 'compassionate snark.' I believe the therapeutic relationship is sometimes more meaningful than what is actually discussed during therapy (process-based therapy). I value client choice and autonomy in deciding how I can support you in reaching your goals.
