About

My ideal client is someone who truly wants to work on becoming happier with themselves and their situation. Yes therapy may seem like work sometimes but, I can assure you that you are worth it! Happiness may seem so far removed that it seems impossible to even hope for it. I am here to help give you that hope for a better future for yourself. I believe that humans are not flawed and that we are all in this human experience together. I would like to help you with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem, and other life-altering problems that keep you down and unable to achieve what you would like to accomplish.
I use ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and teach DBT (Dialetical Behavioral Therapy) skills to help you learn to cope with what life brings your way. Mindfulness and getting present skills are key elements in learning how to enjoy life right now in this moment. I never leave my clients alone to discover how to navigate difficult challenges themselves.
Due to covid-19, I have made available online therapy. I also offer in-person counseling & therapy. I am here to meet and help you with whatever you are struggling with. Although life gets you down, I am here to offer ways to help you get yourself up. You have it in you, I just help you find it! Once you discover it, you can help yourself and others!

Connie F Hanson's Groups

DBT skills group

Clients in this Adult group will be able to learn Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance skills. Dialectical behavioral therapy, or DBT, is an empirically supported, comprehensive treatment that is effective for treating complex mental health problems. Clients will receive weekly group classes teaching them how to implement mindfulness and other valuable skills into their everyday lives. This helps them to more effectively manage stress and everyday challenges. One of the skills taught is: "Wise mind": where a person takes emotion mind and reasonable mind together and makes a "walking the middle path" or "wise mind" decision.
