Why Play Therapy? This is a frequently asked question. I believe that through play, children express themselves in their own developmentally appropriate way. Through play and other expressive therapies, children can resolve problems, cope with difficult emotions,improve cognitive development and help resolve inner conflicts. Although I work mainly with children, my education and training also allow me the opportunity to work with adults on certain issues.

I also have an extensive background in treating individuals with Co-occurring Disorders and I provide Department of Transportation (DOT) Evaluations as a Substance Abuse Professional.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My practice encompasses individual, couples, and family therapy. I use the Family Systems Theory approach emphasizing interpersonal communication, role structure, and Bowenian Theory. Areas of expertise include the following: marital and premarital relationships; adolescent problems; geriatric and grand-parenting issues; and work/career related challenges.

An ideal patient is one with a history of anxiety, depression, uses substance to alleviate unresolved childhood trauma, grief/loss, or PTSD (any event that brings up reaction stronger than one can tolerate, repress, or suppress).
