I believe in every person's ability to learn positive belief systems that will promote growth and spiritual balance. My niche is working with clients who feel stuck in their life and do not always have a defined negative experience to explain why they are feeling stuck. Often times it is hard to identify a single memory that solidifies a negative belief system about oneself. "This is just who I am," I will hear, but everyone has the potential to move their life forward.
Utilizing an integrated approach in therapy allows me to individually tailor each intervention to fit your needs and abilities. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) taps into your own brain's natural mechanism for healing during sleep. EMDR often shortens the time needed in therapy for those break-through moments that create dramatic change.
I carry competencies in working with people who both work within the medical community and those interact with the medical community based on chronic illness. I carry cultural competencies in working with LGB people and people along the transgender and intersex spectrum.
