My ideal client experiences the world from an emotionally sensitive lens, they are often called to help others, and yet find themselves overwhelmed with the pain of those they are empathically resonating with. My clients tend to have strong emotions across the spectrum - some experience the emotions as an obstacle in their lives - interrupting value-based goals. Often my clients have experienced significant trauma or the trauma of an insensitive binary world. I have in depth training in the emotion system, self-regulation with evidence based tools including CBT, mindfulness, compassion practices and more.
My core practice is in the application of mindfulness to healing, first through DBT, and then other mindfulness based therapies for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and self acceptance. The common underpinning is a focus on the emotion system and a balance between accepting of life as it is and tools for changing what we can - all held in kindness.
As both a provider and a utilizer of therapy, I know it can be a long and frustrating path to find a provider that ticks all the boxes. Do not give up. Your well-being matters. Even when we are experiencing deep isolation, in unseen ways, you are connected to others in large and small ways. I am glad that you are trying to meet your needs. Don't give up.
