I have also worked with parents in a collaborative fashion to help support their children through times of growth.
"I feel lost compared to those around me and unsure of my next move." "I feel like I can’t show my true self to others." "I’m facing a life-changing decision and it’s making me anxious." "I worry about my ability to succeed and shut down before I begin." "I’m thinking about quitting a substance, but I’m scared of what life will look like without it." Do you ever feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, panic, or uncertainty about the future? You’re not alone, and I’d be honored to support you.

My ideal client is ready for real change, even if they feel nervous or stuck. They might be a teen, young adult, parent, or new/expectant mom facing stress, anxiety, identity questions, or big life shifts. They want to feel lighter, more confident, and equipped with tools that truly work. They choose me because I’m honest, human, and use approaches like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and IFS to create lasting growth, not quick fixes.

I consider how early attachment and experiences from birth and childhood can influence our development, relational patterns, and perceptions throughout our lives.
I work with clients who feel there is more to who they are than how they are currently living, and who are committed to making a shift. My relational approach encourages the therapeutic process to be a co-creative exploration between clients and myself, meeting as a collaborative team. Working holistically, with the body and mind, I work with clients towards re-patterning old constructs to support living from a place of balance and deep presence. Together, we uncover new perspectives that are in support of the client's goals and growth.

My specialty areas are: improving outcomes for couples/families in conflict; aiding teens and adults who are struggling with motivation, depression, anxiety, anger, relationships, or other life-limiting factors; helping couples to rediscover the love and partnership they once enjoyed; and guiding parents through the troubled waters of behavioral problems with their children.
I am a firm believer that daily life does not need to include anger, frustration, resentment, and pain. If you find that you or your family seem unhappy more days than not, there is help here! I use a down-to-earth approach to help the individuals, couples, and families I work with to identify the source(s) of their disharmony -including arguing, anger, grief, health issues, financial struggles, divorce, loss, stress, or ineffective coping skills. There is no single methodology or practice that fits each client's situation perfectly.

Therapy for people who are ready to do the work — not just talk about it. Life is demanding. And if you're reading this, something is probably getting in the way of the life you want to be living. I work with active adults, high performers, and athletes who are ready to do the real work — not just talk about their problems indefinitely, but actually move through them. My approach draws from ACT, CBT, and existential frameworks, which means we get practical fast while keeping the bigger picture in view.

The truth is, all of us have a core self that is whole and worthy, and so do our children.
In our work together, we go to the source. Using evidence-based approaches like Parent- Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), EMDR, and an Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens, we explore where these reactions come from. We work to heal the echoes of past experiences and foster a more compassionate inner world, so you can respond from a place of calm presence.

FAQ - About Child Therapy
When does a child need to see a therapist?
Children naturally experience emotional ups and downs. Sometimes, though, they need support from a professional. A child may benefit from therapy if their emotions or behaviors change significantly within a short period of time. For example, if a child usually spends time with friends after school but begins isolating in their room, further inquiry is warranted. Other areas for concern include altered sleep patterns, lack of appetite, intense anger, irritability, or hopelessness, or developmental regression in young children (bedwetting, thumb-sucking).

What can a child therapist help with?
A therapist can help with any difficult experience a child may encounter growing up, including learning problems or anxiety related to school, relationship challenges with friends or parents, bullying, intense emotions or phobias, divorce and family dynamics, or the death of a pet or loved one. A therapist can help children process their experience and develop coping skills in an age-appropriate way

What therapy types are most suitable for children?
Children can benefit from different forms of therapy, including family therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and exposure therapy, depending on their condition. Play therapy is a great option for younger children who may not be able to fully articulate their feelings. In this approach, kids play with toys and games while a therapist observes and helps the child express their emotions and develop coping skills.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
