Counseling can be an uncomfortable process, involving deep exploration past painful emotions into unmet needs, core beliefs, and unprocessed trauma. It is my goal to help you through this journey in a safe, judgment-free, and accepting space centered around you. I believe the counseling relationship to be the core of therapy, which relies on unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and empathy. Human connection is key, and I strive to create an environment without judgment or shame with my clients.

We all want to experience joy, a sense of purpose, and nourishing relationships yet sometimes it can feel tiring to even know where to begin. Feelings of anxiety, stress, a recent life transition, or loss can feel overwhelming. With the support and guidance counseling offers, change can begin to occur. I don't want you to just cope, but to flourish and start to feel more confident that this change is within your reach.

At times, life can feel overwhelming, and you may find yourself carrying pain that feels too heavy to hold alone. Whether you are facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship challenges, you deserve a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported.

Therapy can help everyone, not just those with a "diagnosis." In everyday life, challenges are thrown at us that we can't always work out on our own. I help people process these challenges as they occur. Death of a loved one, relationship issues, work stressors, life transitions, etc - can be upsetting, distracting and decrease overall happiness and quality of life. Evidence has shown that people who have an unbiased, safe space to process these events move through them more quickly, gain clarity, improve productivity and ultimately thrive in their lives.

I have been married for 17 years and have 3 adult step children, a son-in-law and 3 grandchildren. I also have 2 cats that are important members of the family. Family is something I view to be a living entity, challenging at times, and have come value over the years. My life experiences have given me insight and perspectives that allow me to make unique connections with my clients. I learned that life is ever changing. I have come to realize that during times when we feel defeated, it does not mean we are unable to change the outcome or our quality of life in the future, nor, is it too late to create the life we do want.

It takes strength and vulnerability to do therapy. Sometimes the bravest thing is just showing up. I am a teacher at heart and will take advantage of a teaching moment. I believe you can learn about self and what keeps you stuck, what maintaining factors influence you and the lens you see your world through. I believe in being authentic and curious while exploring possibilities vs labeling and judging. Knowing who we are authentically is powerful. Sometimes the authentic self gets lost, but it is there at your core. "Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within" Gabor Maté.

When you’re used to being the one who "handles it," admitting things aren't okay can feel like a failure. But when persistent stress, the weight of depression, or constant anxiety begin to dictate your day, "powering through" is no longer a viable strategy. If you’ve found yourself feeling purposeless, disconnected, or stuck in a cycle of worry, it’s a sign that your current tools aren't matching the scale of your challenges.

I am particularly trained in working with adults and children who suffer from persistent obsessions, compulsions, social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and chronic worry and/or stress. Many individuals I see also have other issues that are also addressed as part of the therapy. Cognitive behavior therapy is an excellent treatment for these issues, which often empowers the individual to get better control using specific tools and an individualized plan tailored to their needs. Therapy tends to be relatively short term with maintenance or follow up sessions as needed to ensure individuals maintain their gains.
