I noticed while clients may feel comfortable in their ability to rationally think and possess comfort with emotions there can be a lack of communication between rational parts and the emotional parts. We can bridge that gap and take the shame or overwhelm out of growing and learning about ourselves.
It has been my experience that many people bump up against some difficult issues and become very self critical. I work with clients to decrease the criticism and increase compassion so growing can be a positive and enriching experience.

This group for teens that identify as girls/women will help promote mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. The group starts outdoors in late August at Waneka Lake and then transitions inside.

Teen Grief Group
Experiencing the loss of someone close to you is an incredibly ungrounding experience at any stage in life. However, experiencing loss in adolescence brings its own very unique challenges. Therapy Matters hopes to provide a space of support and offer tools to help cope with loss and grief in a healing group setting.. This group will meet for an hour and a half in person, and will follow CDC guidelines.
