The desire I have for my clients is for them to thrive instead of just surviving. Starting a counseling journey is a courageous and important step towards thriving. My goal is to walk along side my clients inside a safe, trusting, and collaborative relationship. I have an integrative approach to therapy which is focused on what my client needs in order to come to a long-term place of healing. In this counseling space, you have the opportunity to process past trauma, deal with anxiety, combat depression, and handle life's day to day struggles. The space I create is accepting and void of judgement.
I work with clients from as young as 5 into late adulthood. I utilize several modalities including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. No intervention is one size fits all. The most important factor in counseling is the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client.
I understand the challenge and intimidation of counseling, as I have experienced counseling myself. I have also experienced the healing power it can bring. As we learn to identify our patterns of thinking and behavior, learn new coping skills, and how to integrate them into our lives, we can create meaningful, positive, and healthy changes.
