Working with children of all ages, parents, adults and couples I use an eclectic approach using a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches including: cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure response therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed, and strength-based therapy. I work with clients to recognize the power of thoughts and their subsequent reactions/responses. Integrating my formal education and my work experiences (psychology, art, teaching, crisis intervention, and social work) my simple goal is to help clients thrive regardless of life circumstances.
I have 30+ years experience in the field, working with both adults and children. With children I use play, sand-tray, games, and art to understand their experiences and build resiliency. I involved parents so they can effectively support their children.
I earned my MSW at Columbia University (1996) while working at Kids in Crisis, and then worked as Wilton Youth Services Coordinator for 26 years. I opened a small private practice in 1998 and in 2011 moved my practice to unique historic space in Georgetown, CT.
