The decision to seek counseling is a life altering one. It is a commitment of time, energy and money. Therefore, finding a counselor that you can make a connection with is very important. With 19+ years of experience, my unique approach to individual counseling is to treat the whole person. A healthy self is made up of physical, emotional and spiritual components. All of which need nurturing to feel happy and fulfilled. My approach to couples counseling is to treat each of the components of the relationship. The you, the partner, the relationship. In that process, my role is to be on the side of the relationship.
My style would be described as eclectic and holistic. We will work together to find techniques that will promote growth and are a good fit for you/the relationship. In couples counseling I will teach each partner to speak in language the other can understand. Resulting in your ability to hear each other and decrease the conflict, even if you are un-coupling.
I specialize in treating adults for individual and couples counseling. While I am an excellent listener, my approach to treatment also includes honest feedback to promote strength and growth. The spots on my couch are reserved for people who are willing to do the work of counseling. Together we can build your healthiest self/relationship.
