Does your tween or teen struggle with perfectionism or feel overwhelmed by high expectations? Are they dealing with anxiety or depression and looking for better ways to cope? I work with young people ages 12 to 25 who are often sensitive or struggle with “big feelings.” Many of my clients are autistic, queer, and/or highly creative.
I believe the therapist-patient relationship is the most important part of working with young people. There’s no “one size fits all” to therapy. I start my work by building trust and rapport with each patient. Once that foundation is there, I use approaches like play therapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and values-based theory to tailor to each individuals needs.
I support teens and young adults in a space where they can explore who they are, reflect on their experiences, and make choices that align with their values. Clients often report feeling less anxious or depressed, better able to manage emotions, more able to productively communicate their needs, and be connected to themselves, their family, and peers.
