I am a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist. I have had the honor of learning much about how neurological symptoms impact functioning. I have developed particular expertise in working with adults who have neurological symptoms through mainly a cognitive behavioral approach (CBT). Examples of diagnoses include: functional neurological symptom disorder, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES), functional movement disorder, postconcussive syndrome/concussion recovery, Parkinson's disease, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, anxiety, and adjustment to illness. I also enjoy working with people in helping professions.

If you struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD and/or ADHD and are motivated to gain insight, to take action and change I want to work with you. I will empathize with your struggles, help you to think differently, nurture insight, but also warmly challenge you to grown beyond your struggles. Life is an opportunity to learn and grow. I'd love to join you in the process. I use a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy but I am informed by insight. I also do coaching. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults. I may also begin doing assessments for the appropriateness of spinal stimulation.

My passions lie with individuals that suffer from PTSD and the effects of trauma. Once you identify the root cause of your symptoms, which can range from depression, panic and anxiety, nightmares or insomnia, even chronic health problems, you can truly begin to heal and grow. My favorite intervention is Seeking Safety which incorporates a set of skills to address the effects of PTSD as well as substance abuse. Although these are serious issues, I believe in my heart that a sense of humor is absolutely vital to survival!

Have you been experiencing the effects of a trauma(s) for way too long and you don’t want to keep rehashing the event in therapy, in other words, are you looking for a less confrontational therapy than what is typically offered? Our focus is to help individuals reduce the impact of psychological symptoms, improve their health and well-being, and build new healthy behaviors conducive to managing ongoing wellness. We have extensive experience in working with first responders and have many EAP contracts with surrounding cities including Lafayette, Crawfordsville, Monticello, and Logansport. Trauma in first responders is at an all time high. I have two evidence based treatments available for police, fire, and EMS providers that can help reduce the negative impact of trauma and help you get back to leading a healthy life, and services are free if under contract.

I am a trauma-focused, mindfulness utilizing master's level therapist who finds satisfaction in sessions centered around what you need to learn to be your best and whole self. I also am able to work with young children in play therapy, which is a therapy modality focused on communication via play and kinetic learning.
