I am a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist. I have had the honor of learning much about how neurological symptoms impact functioning. I have developed particular expertise in working with adults who have neurological symptoms through mainly a cognitive behavioral approach (CBT). Examples of diagnoses include: functional neurological symptom disorder, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES), functional movement disorder, postconcussive syndrome/concussion recovery, Parkinson's disease, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, anxiety, and adjustment to illness. I also enjoy working with people in helping professions.

I am passionate about mental health and am grateful I have worked in this field over the last 14 years. As a Marriage and Family therapist for 5 years, I have found my calling working with professional helpers such as first responders, veterans, and military service members. I have a specific interest and expertise in working with professional helpers who have a hard time accepting or asking for help themselves. I have gotten to know the struggles of the professional helpers and their loved ones that I have had the honor to work with.

I have always been fascinated by the power of the mind and human potential. It is that sense of awe that has guided my nearly 20 years of work in the field. I started my career in addictions and have had a diverse array of experiences including: personal training, health coaching, seminary education, workplace/IO consulting, and good old clinical psychology. Helping clients experience and become their "true self" can only come through unconditional positive regard. This is encourages clinicians to withhold judgement to ensure clients feel safe enough to objectively explore and understand their true self.

I love to work with people who are in transition. Some of those transitions can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time, such as going to college, becoming a parent or getting married. Other transitions can be difficult and even devastating, such as getting fired, losing a loved one or becoming a caregiver. I also have a lot of experience helping people who struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma related stress and personality disorders. Life transitions as well as psychiatric diagnoses can be overwhelming. My clients want to create empowering narratives, hope as well as skills that allow them to thrive.
