People are often ambivalent when seeking help from a professional - it's not an easy thing to do to speak with a stranger about what troubles you. In my 30 years of experience I have found people have often suffered for long periods of time, and the first thing I can offer is realistic hope - hope that things can get better, and that life can feel worthwhile again. I offer help and hope for the practical problems of life as well as the more intangible, yet equally vital issues related to a sense of peace and contentment with one's life.
My work with individuals and families who have suffered a traumatic event or loss has taught me enormous respect for the strength of the human spirit. I work from a holistic/integrative approach to help people feel and function better, and to develop a powerful sense of meaning in their lives.
I have extensive experience working with people from all walks of life. Through a combination of my professional training in a broad range of therapeutic approaches and these experiences, I have learned profound lessons about culture, faith and healing in ways that I believe benefits those with whom I work.
