The work of healing the soul is what attracted me to the profession of psychology and I feel it cannot be done if there is judgment or a lack of empathy. A therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, openness and exploration is one that will heal the wounds of the past.I offer an opportunity to create that relationship and to learn how it feels to trust, share and grow. I was born in the northeast but lived in Los Angeles suburbs for 25 years before relocating to NC. I am licensed in both states. I am applying to insurances in CA, but I will take payments from patients for them to get reimbursements.
Adults over 21 are welcome. In particular, those with childhood sexual abuse, mood disorders, anxiety, parenting, and chronic pain and more. My practice is general and includes people of varied cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations. I have worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges too.
My Master's degree Counseling Psychology focused on Learning theory and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. My Doctorate was in Depth Psychology which emphasized psychoanalytic theorists such as Freud,Jung,Object Relationists and Self Psychology theorists. This divergent background enables me to work in ways patients are comfortable and most likely to succeed.
