As a licensed addictions counselor and mental health practitioner with Club Recovery I understand very well the nature of Gambling Disorder and see myself in the people I serve. I have come to develop my perspective on treatment from my own journey in recovery. My goal is to help patients with true insight of Gambling Disorder, how it has effected them and their families, and develop an understanding of this still very misunderstood aspect of the disease of addiction. My gambling treatment program utilizes a cognitive-behavioral model that focuses on raising awareness of one’s emotions, thoughts and behaviors related to gambling.
I hold certification from the International Gambling Counselor Certification Board (IGCCB) as a Level II provider, I'm a post Maters Fellow working toward LPCC licensure, and hold an LADC. These allow me to approach clients across the spectrum of mental heath and addiction for substances and gambling disorder.
I strive to empower clients to take responsibility for their own lives by imparting to them the skills to identify self-defeating behaviors and examine patterns of thinking, feeling and responding. The first step in this process is to acknowledge that one’s repeated attempts to end the cycle of addiction requires more than just willpower.
