My therapeutic approach creates an environment in sessions where clients are able to transcend their challenges by finding new strengths they did not realize they had, and by rediscovering those strengths that may have been forgotten. By redefining your sense of self, you develop insights and skills that enable you to reclaim who you are. As I partner with you on this transformative journey, you will identify the patterns of thought and behaviors that often interfere with more positive outcome. In individual therapy I utilize a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive therapies, believing fully that we often get stuck in old thinking habits that begin years earlier. My process involves addressing current concerns while helping you develop an understanding of possible root causes. This approach works with varied challenges.
A large focus of my work is devoted to promoting mental health for children. This is apparent in my work with families. Having understanding of the key factors in their psycho/emotional and social development, I believe in collaborating with the adults in their lives to bring about desired change.
