I have been in practice for more than 30 years. I work with people of all ages and with a broad range of problems. I also teach family physicians and medical students consequently, I am experienced in working with people who are dealing with the effects of an acute or chronic medical problem in their life and on their relationships. I have training and experience in family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy and mindfulness based stress reduction.I have worked extensively with children and adolescents on problems stemming from ADHD and resulting in behavioral concerns.
i am a Narrative Therapist.I focus on the life story someone brings into therapy and how our conversations can help to revise that story so that it is a more satisfying and fulfilling one. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Therapy and Mindfullness Meditation to facilitate the "re-storying."
I believe compassion and empathy are the cornerstone of my practice. Being an experienced clinician and teacher of physicians for many years put me in a unique position to work with diverse groups of people. I have learned a lot form my clients and my students. It is humbling.
