"I work with clients holistically, meaning that when someone comes to me with a psychological problem, I help create change by formulating interventions targeted at important life domains (e.g., nutrition, sleep, social relationships, stress, thinking style, & daily structure.) For example, I am interested in how you think and feel about yourself and others, how your family relationships influence these thoughts, and how other daily health behaviors facilitate your well-being. I use this integrated approach to help build insight, foster understanding, and develop helpful behaviors that move you in the direction of Wellness. "

"Trained in extensive cognitive behavioral theory and working at VR, I worked to help clients find new ways of working and developing self concepts that embrace change. Working at Patrick Harris Psychiatric Hospital, I saw those with severe mental illnesses. Additional academic training was helpful in working with those with chronic diseases. Now, primarily, I see children using play therapy techniques. Currently, I have acquired approximately 80 hours in gambling addiction training and have passed the International Gambling Counsel Certification exam. Being a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider is my next goal. "

"Sometimes our inner critic can be relentless by telling us we aren’t good enough, strong enough, smart enough, skinny enough, outgoing enough, attractive enough, or likeable enough to do something. That voice can become so common that we don’t even question the validity of it anymore. It eventually becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy because at some point we begin viewing the world through that lens of never being able to measure up. We then begin to seek out information that agrees with our inner critic. We can also misread others’ comments, gestures or facial expressions so that it aligns with our own doubts about ourselves."

"Hello there, and welcome to my profile. My decision to work in this field was fueled by my observations of my mom's experiences with mental health treatment. As a result, I have strong compassion for people and I approach treatment differently. I am constantly looking for new and effective treatments that can be pleasant and enjoyable. I am a huge animal lover and I believe that animals enrich our lives and trigger our natural compassion for others. This is why I incorporate animals in my practice. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. The therapist then helps the client modify those thoughts and the behaviors that flow from them.
