I use a variety of approaches to meet clients' needs such as: equine assisted and animal assisted counseling, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and play therapy.I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and am experienced in treating a variety of difficulties including: anxiety, depression, childhood behavioral problems, autism, recent family adjustments, parenting skills, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Siena College and my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Albany. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York.
Equine-assisted counseling uses the diverse personalities and calming effects of horses as a means of helping my clients work through their own emotional challenges. The experiential nature of equine assisted treatment is particularly effective in rapidly increasing self-awareness and improving an individual's ability to apply learned skills to daily life.
