I view counseling as walking down the hallway of life and trying to close the doors to one's past. As one walks down the hallway, one must walk into each room and decide what to hold on to and what to let go of. I understands that seeking therapy can be really difficult and enjoys using humor when appropriate. I am compassionate therapist at times but can be blunt. I do not want to waste your time or money therefore I will work hard with you to come up with a treatment plan that works best. My background includes working on a National Burn unit, ICU, ER, Psychiatric hospital, and managing a residential group home.

I have a long-standing interest in how our past echoes forward into our present. It is evident how critical early development is in terms of our moods, relationships, and distinctive personalities. I have developed tools for working with people to untangle the past from present so that there is more room for transformation in the future.

In my psychotherapy sessions, I like to include Biofeedback monitoring of heart rate and breathing chemistry to give me useful information in treatment planning and to help empower clients in greater self-regulation/self-control. I provide many skills for clients to practice. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral techniques along with psychophysiological (biofeedback), transpersonal, and Somatic Experiencing stress and trauma release approaches. I also work with optimizing performance in any area whether sports, music, speaking, acting, or reducing anxiety. My motto is OPT for the BEST which is my acronym for Optimal Performance Training for the Body, Emotions, Spirit, and Thoughts.

I work with children, adolescents and adults who are primarily dealing with anxiety, depression and relationship issues. Emotional health is as important as physical health. We work together to understand how to accomplish change. I work in medical and mental health settings with the belief that integrating feelings with appropriate behavior creates a more peaceful existence. This summer I will be offering psychotherapy with equine assistance for kids (individual and group treatment) ages 6-adolescents at Affinity Ranch in Parker, CO.

My practice is grounded in treating stress, trauma, and PTSD. Supporting a broad range of clients impacted by the debilitating effects of these conditions - abuse, abandonment, loss, physical injury, chronic illness, terminal illness, chronic pain, obesity, work-related stress, relationship issues, etc. I have a uniquely-effective approach for assisting those impacted by sexual trauma. It is my professional passion and commitment to use the most effective and rapid treatment methods available to help clients achieve the highest degree of personal liberation and authenticity. I assist clients from the comfort and convenience of their own home via web video (Skype, FaceTime) and by phone.
