Note - Open availability midday and some evening availability. Hello, my name is Dr. Edward Coffey and I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist. I am accepting new clients and I utilizing many traditional methods of counseling including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Center therapy, and Behavioral Modification. Building a positve rapport and trusting relationship while maintaing ethics and confidentiality is the cornerstone of the counseling process as well as my ethical belief system as it relates to the therapeutic process.
As a therapist, I am well versed in helping people with a variety of anxieties, depressive disorders, and interpersonal life stressors. I believe in helping individuals see color when sometimes they only see “black and white. As a therapist, it is important for me to show unconditional positive regard, congruency, and empathy when working with clients.
I like to use the Roy G. Biv approach while working in the therapy setting in terms of working with every person under the rainbow. One of my motto's is “Each One, Teach One, Reach One”! I also have an extensive background working with members of the African American and Latino population. Communication is a key component needed during the therapy process.
