I specialize in treating trauma / PTSD and certain mood and anxiety conditions. I emphasize the importance of: Sensitivity and humility regarding individual and cultural diversity, ethical practice, client wellbeing, self-determination, and tailored treatment to align with the unique person and their intersecting identities within my practice. I enjoy clarifying mental health concerns through psychological and cognitive assessment when clinically indicated. I began clinical practice in 2007 with the bulk of that being in the Department of Veterans Affairs, and since 2016, in the US military.
I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral orientation and incorporate “third-wave” psychotherapies that address psychological concerns through holistic, contextual, and values-based approaches. I am formally trained in various evidence-based psychotherapies and have provided these to adults and older adults with diverse demographic backgrounds and identities.
I have years of experience helping individuals with myriad presenting concerns, sometimes being expected life stressors and others, lifetimes of trauma and other difficulties. Whatever may prompt you to pursue psychotherapy now, I invite you to contact me - it is my honor to join your journey to live the life you want, consistent with the values you choose.

I utilize evidence-based, effective practices to treat clients who struggle with trauma exposure, mood conditions, and substance use. After careful initial assessment, I engage the client in shared-decision making to verify we are targeting their primary concerns and what they can expect from the therapy they choose. The majority of clients will see their concerns improving in about a month.

I primarily use a Cognitive-Behavioral approach in psychotherapy, augmented by a values-based framework (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). From the client's history, concerns, and goals, we select a treatment plan that aligns with their values and individual and cultural identities, and involves building awareness and shifting perspectives, actions, and responses to internal experiences.
