Relationships are blessings in our lives but often a source of deep pain. I see so many children, families, and couples distressed with life: unable to experience the blessings; and unable to find peace and satisfaction. In those situations, communication patterns are often marked with defensiveness, criticism, and sometimes even contempt. Sometimes families and couples have stopped talking altogether, unable to find the caring and understanding that once filled their relationships. My practice specializes in Couples/Family relationships and communication challenges - helping folks learn to listen, understand, and love.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as School Psychologist. I have 40 years of combined experience working with children, couples, parents, and families. I have been trained at a level 3 in Gottman couples therapy. I also specialize in treating childhood anxiety, school refusal therapy, and SPACE, Supportive Parent Training for Anxiety.
Sometimes couples, families, and individuals, have gone through crises, trauma, or reached a time in their lives when coping skills, successful in the past, are no longer working.
