Do you have a greater potential for happiness and success than you are currently living? As a well trained and experienced psychotherapist, since 1998 I have helped people to work through emotional concerns that block this potential. I utilize a variety of psychotherapy approaches such as psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, and EMDR. Accessing your essential compassionate presence, and identifying what blocks it, is the the foundation of all deep healing.
Even though they may no longer be necessary for survival, we work to understand how symptoms and unwanted behaviors made emotional sense when they developed. From this perspective, all parts of one's self are welcome in therapy. The aspects of self that one struggles with do not need to be gotten rid of but healed and unburdened.
Working experientially allows our work to address the root causes of distress and self-criticism. This may mean touching into difficult feelings that were not able to be metabolized in the past, but which through the process of therapy can be healed now. In this way there is more room for our natural vitality, connection, authenticity, and loving-presence.
