I have been a professional counselor for 26 years and have worked in a variety of settings: private practice, community mental health and residential. I bring a wealth of experience to the counseling session. I assist my clients in improving their lives by teaching coping skills, providing a sounding board, facilitating greater insight, offering psycho education and knowledge of community resources.
I can help by doing a thorough initial evaluation to get the big picture of what is going on for my client. I can suggest treatment options to individualize the process. I listen and reflect back for my client to gain insight. I can offer psycho education to bring objectivity to their subjective experience to facilitate not feeling so isolated.
In my 26 years of counseling I have developed deep compassion for the human condition of suffering. I believe that we all need support at times to weather the storms of our lives whether they are passing showers or ongoing climate conditions. I feel deeply honored that folks have shared their stories with me and allowed me to offer compassionate suggestions.
