I'm a licensed therapist in Georgia with over 25 years of Experience. I have worked with a diverse population in various settings. I use Art Therapy, Coaching, Expressive Arts, Mindfulness-Based, Multicultural, Person-centered, Solution Focused, Strength Based, Motivational Interviewing, and Christian Counseling. Some of my specialties are ADHD, anger management, career counseling, codependency, coping skills, family conflict, depression, LGBTQ issues, job stress, peer relationships, women’s issues, school issues, and mood disorders. I use each methodology to help clients develop healthy coping skills to meet their goals.

Dr. Lawanda Harmon has been actively working in the field of mental health since 2010. With a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling obtained from Walden University, she began working at Community Friendship Inc. as an individual and group therapist. Lawanda continued to pursue her education at the doctoral level, obtaining a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Walden University. During her practicum and internship field experiences, she gained extensive training in Cognitive and Behavioral techniques as well as in Emotional, Personality, and Trauma focused interventions at Atlanta Center for Family Wellness in Atlanta, Georgia.

My clients may be struggling with a variety of issues commonly including sexually compulsive behavior, relational challenges, unresolved trauma, substance abuse, or codependency. Many of my clients have are engaged in a healing and recovery process from their struggles, but desire a deeper dive into their recovery and understanding of self. Their general goals are to overcome not only the symptoms that brought them to treatment but also what drives those symptoms. Clients seeing me are in need of a therapist who is specifically qualified for their needs & can be up-front and direct while also being compassionate and non-judgmental.

Ellen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with an M.S. in Counseling & Psychology- Clinical Mental Health from Troy University in Panama City, Florida. Ellen’s clinical experience includes work in an addiction treatment center, residential treatment facility, hospital outpatient program, and private practice. Ellen has worked with adults and seniors in group and individual therapy. These experiences have allowed her to expand her skills working with diverse populations and tailor her approach to best suit the individualized needs of her clients. Ellen believes there is not a one-size-fits all approach to therapy.
