As a holistic psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, I have had the privilege of supporting my clients through a variety of difficult life experiences. Integrating my own personal struggles and shame has opened me to become a more compassionate, nonjudgmental therapist. My warmth and humor help to create a safe environment that allows my clients to transform difficult emotions such as grief, rage ,despair,fear, and shame and open to more happiness, fulfillment and peace in their lives.
Areas of specialization include: Grief/loss, Transitions, Anxiety, Depression and Addiction. Prior to private practice I worked for ten years in the East Hartford Public School system as a counseling consultant. I have also worked as a a Licensed Addictions Counselor in out-patient and in-patient treatment facilities.
In my work with individuals (including adolescents), couples and families, I integrate a variety of tools and techniques based upon post-graduate trainings that I've participated in. These include: Mindfulness Meditation, Focusing, Internal Family Systems(IFS), and Body-Centered Gestalt Therapy.
