I am an MFT and a Registered Art Therapist and have been working with adults, families, couples and youth for 20 years. I use evidence based practices combined with art therapy to help one identify and express his or her needs and navigate life's transitions (divorce, death of a loved one, serious illness) I offer guidance and tools to help build resilience as well as reduce symptoms related to anxiety and depression and grief and loss. No artistic skills are required for art therapy. It is a fun and proactive way to explore your inner world!
Art Therapy provides a supportive container that allows one to safely express and explore strong, sensitive or destructive feelings.Discussion about your artwork and the art making process can help both of us gain insight into your inner world. Art therapy is a hands on productive form of therapy.
I also work with people who have experienced cancer. As a cancer survivor myself I understand the power of art therapy to help one process and integrate the trauma and challenges related to a cancer diagnosis. I help one build resilience, find ones new normal and purpose for living.
