I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Therapist. I established a private psychotherapy practice in Sarasota 26 years ago and I am a co-owner of Alliance Counseling Services, a faith based counseling office. By faith based we are saying we provide emotional and spiritual care for the whole person honoring and respecting people of all religious/spiritual traditions. All people are welcome here. Included in my professional philosophy of sex therapy is the goal of incorporating a sex positive/sexually liberating approach with our clients' religious and spiritual beliefs; that the two are not mutually exclusive.

I have been in the teaching and counseling fields for over fifteen years, and I am a certified RYT 200 yoga instructor. I use an integrative, holistic and active approach to health and wellness. I work to create a safe, supportive and trusting environment to help guide and facilitate personal healing and growth. Working in such areas as; life transition, interpersonal coping skills, PTSD, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress/anger management, behavioral issues, relationship issues, grief work, addictions, family issues, and beyond.

As so much heavy stress mounts in our lives, stress fractures begin to appear within us and in our relationships; managing our stress, anxieties, fears, depressions, over reactions, sudden anger, difficulty sleeping, and really missing our old lives and contact with loved ones all becomes important. We're grieving losses actually. It just doesn't feel like it, but when we add losses to this mix, its easy for our ships to sink or get flooded.These are really tough times. She draws on highly respected clinical skills, professional judgment, decision making and interpersonal skills to help her clients. Her approach is person-centered and goal-directed, treating the whole person.

I have been a child therapist for over ten years and have had the privilege of helping children of all ages. While working at the Women's Center in Melbourne, I have dealt with difficult issues ranging from sexual abuse, domestic and community violence to complex trauma. In this journey, although, my primary therapeutic focus has been the child-parent relationship, I have had experience with managing interpersonal conflicts between couples and families as well.
