I have been working with families, individuals and couples for 35 years to identify and explore recurring patterns that prevent a person from living a rich, fulfilling and meaningful life. I collaborate with clients, using a Family Systems framework, to explore those issues that are contributing to relationship conflict, work difficulties and low self-esteem that often result in anxiety, depression and addiction. Our work together will explore roles, patterns, and conflicts in one's family of origin as well as how they continue to impede one's life in the present.

Like focusing a camera lens to help create a desired picture, we need at times to refocus the image of our lives that may have become blurry often through the uninvited challenges or changes that come our way -or perhpas past events are not completely resolved as we thought. With blocked or stiffled awareness, our copng skills may be crying out for help as our deptression, our anxiety, our mood swings, our drinking, or our drug use may be taking over and managing us instead of we managing them. Hello, I am a clinical psychologist with more than 17 years of experience providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties. I received my Masters in Education from Harvard University and my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. Most people solve most problems on their own or with help from friends, but that doesn’t always work. Troubles mount up. Upheavals catch you unawares. “Go to” solutions can leave you empty-handed. Even planned changes can be disorienting - job changes, retirement, new relationships, going off to school, children leaving home. Sometimes people just need help coping, changing bad habits, or thinking through options. Other times people feel hemmed in by circumstances, or find they don’t recognize themselves in the life they lead and want to deepen their sense that the life they are living reflects their own values and choices.
