My name is Payal and I'm the founder of award winning therapy services at PowerUp Counseling PLLC! I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping individuals overcome their challenges. For over twenty-five years, I have counseled hundreds of children and individuals with a variety of issues from depression, anxiety, behavior issues and self esteem. I help clients with issues using my vast background and proven knowledge with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality Therapy. I'm most proud of our recent Award as Best of Choice for Therapy Services by Living Magazine in 2023.

I’m primarily a cognitive behavioral therapist — I help you explore your thoughts and core beliefs to gain clarity and find solutions. I facilitate observation of narrative and finding meaning in your experiences and the complexity of life. People usually seek my services when they are at a crossroads, are dealing with relationship conflict, difficult family dynamics, emotional turmoil, or want to overcome past trauma. I currently see around 25 individuals per week in my work as a clinical counselor with a human rights organization since January 2022. From April through September 2024, I am doing Online/Video therapy only.

I am passionate about helping people who are struggling with difficult personal situations. Assisting clients to regain their confidence, supporting them through trying circumstances or helping to heal their relationships is what gives me great satisfaction. I understand cross-cultural and acculturation situations faced by immigrants and consequently, I am sensitive to the subtleties of clients’ religious, social and cultural background and needs. I work with individuals, couples and families to bring about change that will help them cope with the condition that is hampering their ability to function at an optimal level.
