I hold a degree from Michigan State University and have accumulated a wide range of experience in the field of mental health care. My specialty is couple and family counseling, and of course, I also see individuals ages 12 and up. I have significant experience working with children and families who are involved with DCFS. I have helped families deal with issues such as divorce/re-marriage, and child abuse. I also enjoy working with parents who are re-thinking their parenting style and want to work towards a more satisfying relationship with their child(ren).

I work from a collaborative approach to therapy, and view the therapeutic relationship as a journey that we embark upon together, as a team. I am down-to-earth, genuine, loyal and honest. Most of my clients tell me I am a lot like them or a "real" person. I believe in, promote and teach a work/life balance that people desire. My approach is client-centered yet interactive. I believe in the"Golden Rule"; treat others how you would want to be treated. I also love to laugh! Although therapy can be difficult at times, it can be fun.

Hello! I’m Dr. Kala Taylor ,(She), I currently work private practice with (The Psychology Center) in Chicago. Previously I worked psychotherapy in the State Government Correctional setting under the exempt licensure title Clinical Psychologist/Sr Psych. Inmates under my care have described my therapeutic approach as "nonjudgmental" and "compassionate." My personal experiences have led me to cultivate a deep empathy for all beings. and I’m committed to being (not just inclusive but) welcoming towards “others.” My experience working in mental health has led me to focus on working to help individuals with personal challenges.

I am a Psychotherapist who has been in Private Practice in the Naperville and Joliet areas for the past 30 years. I have also worked in Social Work and Special Education Administration for over 20 years. I utilize a multi-eclectic approach that can include the tenets, strategies and approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Reality Therapy (RT) and Task Centered Therapy (TCT) with children, adolescents, adults and families that is client focused and task centered to assist in the accomplishment of meaningful life changes.

The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.
