I specialize in Children and teens with a history of trauma, explosive behaviors, or attachment difficulties. I connect well with Grumpy boys, Shy or struggling to fit in kiddos, and Creative/quirky types. Also, Confused parents wondering, How do I help? Together, we'll identify strengths and small progress that can be celebrated to increase self confidence and motivation. I will also provide tools and support to empower your child to understand why behaviors might be happening and to create change. I also work with Adults using EMDR techniques, art, and sand tray.
I use skill building and relational neurobiology techniques that incorporate the senses, movement, and inward attention to the body to increase self awareness and build skills to know what might be happening, and how to intervene before the volcano blows. I have a relational style and provide a creative and safe environment. I am EMDR and Theraplay trained.
There isn't always a big solution. It is often the simple moments, that get us through each day and help us thrive. The more we look for and appreciate those moments-the more we will find them and the stronger they become. Similarly it is often the small changes in our environment and the way we interact with out kids that make the greatest impact.
