I specialize in depression , anxiety, life-adjustment issues, trauma, grief/loss, self-belief, childhood disorders/needs, adolescent disorders/needs, marital or pre-marital help or strengthening, family, and parenting.
How's it going? I'm a counselor (LPC). I imagine you've come here because you are an individual, a parent of a child or adolescent, or a couple who's looking for a counselor. Why? Maybe you feel like you just can't escape personal feelings of inferiority or the ongoing effects of traumatic events of your past. Your behavior is hurting your relationships, and maybe you aren't even sure why. It could be that your day-to-day activities either stress you out or they no longer bring you meaning or joy. Or, maybe you just want to believe more in yourself and what you offer this world.

Sometimes, we find ourselves buried under challenging life circumstances. When this happens, we are left with three options: remain stuck and undecided, fight through, wounded and bitter, or emerge stronger, wiser and more resilient. I love coming alongside clients who feel they are without hope, and helping them find their inner strengths to emerge resilient. I have experience working with trauma, grief, PTSD, pain management, postpartum depression , chronic medical conditions, OCD, substance use, ADHD, depression , anxiety, bi-polar, and marriage and family issues.

Status: Code 4, Inc. (SC4i) was created following the numerous reports of First Responder suicides across the United States and Canada. First Responders are civilian and military members who perform law enforcement, firefighter, EMS, dispatch and other emergency services. Dr. Crampton retired as a paramedic after 25 years in EMS, which gives SC4i a unique position to intimately understand the stressors associated with being a First Responder. The results of these stressors contribute to a vast number of issues. These issues include depression , anxiety, PTSD, Compassion Fatigue, divorce, domestic violence, and substance abuse.

I help millennials who are struggling to cope throughout daily life with depression , anxiety, low self-esteem, and past trauma to learn how to love themselves and navigate the challenges of relationships, work, and whatever else life throws at you.
You may appear to have it all together to those around you, but internally you are struggling not to fall apart. You have a hard time balancing everything that is going on in your life and feel overwhelmed. Depression and anxiety are normal for you, but recently you feel they have been controlling your day to day. You're noticing patterns that you can't seem to break out of on your own. You know that it can get better, what you’ve been doing isn’t working. You’re tired of feeling stuck and you are motivated to learn how to love yourself, how to cope with daily struggles, and how to unlearn and change what you experienced growing up.

I am a strengths-based therapist who believes every person has incredible resilience and the capacity to live in abundance. When we go through trauma as a child, we often disconnect from our true self and develop relational and behavioral patterns that take away our joy. If you are ready to do this brave work of remembering who you were created to be, I would be honored to walk with you on this part of your journey. Together, we will devise an individualized treatment plan to positively impact your mind, body, and spirit. I offer telehealth in Oklahoma and Colorado, specializing in trauma repair/recovery, depression , and anxiety.

Anxiety and depression : worries & fears and helping with feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.
Are you tired of arguing over and over (and over) the same marital issues? Do you feel stuck and "not heard," and alone? Together I can assist you with working towards positive dialogue rather than living in a state of "gridlock." Effective methods of how to communicate "soften start-ups" instead of harshness; methods to decrease defensiveness and criticism. Learning ways to build a friendship with each other again....and being a team in parenting. If it is divorce, I can assist you and your children through this difficult process, providing family therapy with you and your children.

I want to invite you to awaken to the life you were created for...filled with hope, healing and freedom to live the Bigger Story. Sometimes it can be challenging to know how to break out of the ways our hearts have opted for the status quo. Depression Therapists

What is the goal of therapy for depression?

Therapy for depression has several major goals. One is to relieve the mental pain of depression, which distorts feeling and thinking so that sufferers cannot see beyond their current state of mind or envision feeling better. Another is to give people the mental tools to recognize and correct the kinds of distorted thinking that turn a problem into a catastrophe and lead to despair. Therapy also teaches people how to process negative emotions in constructive ways, so they have more control over their own emotional reactivity. And it helps people regain the ability to see themselves positively, the motivation to do things, and the capacity for pleasure.

What happens in therapy for depression?

Perhaps most important, no matter the type of therapy, patients form an alliance with the therapist; that connection is therapeutic in itself, plus it becomes an instrument of change. Patients learn to identify and to challenge their own erroneous beliefs and thoughts that amplify the effects of negative experiences. They learn to identify situations in which they are especially vulnerable. And they learn new patterns of thinking and behaving. They may be given “homework” assignments in which they practice their developing skills. In addition, good therapists regularly monitor patients to assess whether and how much the condition is improving.

What therapy types help with depression?

Several types of short-term therapy have been found effective, each targeting one or more areas of dysfunction. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps clients challenge their negative thoughts and beliefs, learn new behavioral strategies, and curb reactivity to distressing situations. Behavioral activation (BA) is a form of therapy often used in conjunction with CBT; it focuses on engagement in rewarding activity as a pathway to changing negative feelings and disturbed mood. Another widely used approach is interpersonal therapy (IPT), which targets the social difficulties that both give rise to and get exacerbated by depression. Therapists may combine approaches as needed.

Can therapy for depression be done online?

Studies have found that online therapy can be highly effective for treating depression, although it may be more challenging to build a good therapist-patient alliance on screen than in person—at least at first. However, online therapy can offer considerable advantages. Accessibility and convenience are tops among them. Some people actually find it easier to talk about problems online than in person. While online therapy typically limits visibility of facial expression and body gestures that give important nonverbal cues to a patient’s state of mind, it can give therapists a glimpse into a patient’s world and life, providing information that can be highly useful in guiding therapy.

How effective is therapy for depression?

Many studies show that therapy is highly effective provided that patients complete the prescribed course of therapy, commonly 16 to 20 sessions. Over the long term, it is more effective than medication and the effects are more enduring. As a result, psychotherapy has the power not just to relieve current suffering but to prevent future episodes of the disorder. Therapy reverses the dysfunction in neural circuitry that disposes individuals to a negative view of themselves, the world, and their future and they acquire coping techniques, problem-solving skills, and understanding of their own vulnerabilities that are useful over the course of a lifetime.
